In the photo is my brother and what’s left of my room, around 9 AM the other day at the height of Pedring’s onslaught. At the site of the picture alone, you can tell that our place was seriously harmed. Well, yes, but not our entire house. The third floor, where my room and our laundry area are at, was devastated. Up until now, I still can’t believe what happened. I know the wind was mighty strong that day, but still didn’t expect for our roof to be blown off. I was actually outside my room that specific moment, checking the rest of the houses around our area, when suddenly I heard a loud thud. The next thing I know, my room’s a total mess and so was the laundry area! I got stunned, and lost for words the next minute. Whoa.
And since half of the third floor just got roofless, rainwater started pouring inside! We immediately transferred all my stuff to my brothers’ and mom’s rooms. First few I saved from getting wet were my important documents, my photo albums, books, and CDs. I was in panic mode! Good thing we were able to vacate all my things quickly. Whew!
We then spent the rest of the morning trying to stop the rainwater from coming down the 2nd all the way to the ground floor. We also tied the remaining roofs to make sure Pedring won’t take them away too. We were soaking wet, tired from making “limas” haha, also the power went off, my stuff are all over the place at the 2nd floor! I’m tellin’ ya, it’s like a scene from a tragic movie. Oh, Pedring. You’re such a pain in the ass.
But above it all, I’m glad we’re all safe and unharmed. I believe that is what matters. We may have lost some valuable things, but still we’re thankful to God that nobody got hurt or seriously injured. We may have spent money for reconstruction, but for sure I will enjoy redecorating and remodeling my room after. I just hope the next typhoon won’t be as strong as Pedring, because we’ve had enough as of this moment. Not another one, please.
