Few days ago, I had the itch to watch my American Idol Season 4 dvd and run a marathon again. I believe it’s one of the best season ever! Carrie Underwood and Bo Bice has got to be my most favorite Top 2 finalists. Although I admit I rooted for Bo back then, I still believe they’re the best final 2 and if only both of them can win that time. Watching it made me realize two things. First, I really really miss those great and early Idol seasons. I also got to watch the first three seasons, and even though not all of them sings and performs really well, you can feel the show’s sincerity and authenticity. Second, it’s making me sad, however, because now the show’s slowly losing its touch. I don’t know why or what’s happening, but it’s not giving me and most of its viewers the kind of excitement we used to feel before. Is it because of Paula’s absence? Because of the contestants not giving their all and not meeting the judges’ and viewer’s expectations? Because it’s Simon’s last season? Probably. And one can actually enumerate more reasons, which I won’t be discussing in this post. I’m just a bit disappointed on how this season is shaping up. I hope it’s not too late to save it though. I love the show and I’ve been a fan since the third season. Oh well, I guess we’ll all just have to wait and see.
November is here! Next thing you know, it’s already Christmas! My oh my, another year is about to end. Another year just whizzed by. But don’t fret, Who Did It Best won’t end haha! Ok, I couldn’t think of a better introduction for this post. The first one for this month, that is. And I doubt if there’d be non-Idol posts coming any time soon. I am still not on a blogging mode.
Anyway, last post’s winner is, no doubt, Melinda Doolittle! I guess her fans took the poll too seriously, gave her 800+ votes and left Constantine with just, I think, 10. Let me repeat that this post is just for fun, and not to compare the two featured Idols. But thanks to all of you guys who voted and participated! I appreciate it so much.
And now for the much awaited fourth part, or match I should say. This time I am not gonna feature two but three Idols. Yep, you read it right. Three! I’d like to call this the “Battle Of The Runners Up” hehe! This week, it’s gonna be Clay Aiken, Season 2’s runner up to Ruben Studdard; Bo Bice, fourth season’s runner up to Carrie Underwood; and David Archuleta, Season 7’s runner up to David Cook. I guess, if you’re an AI fan like me, you’ve already guessed what the song is. Yes, it’s Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me. All three gentlemen gave their different take on the song, so it’s up to you voters who do you think did a much better job. So, let’s start the ball rollin’ then!
First up, Clay:
Next, let’s hear it for Bo!
And last but not the least, Archuleta:
Time to vote, vote, vote! 🙂
