I had a very fun-filled day yesterday with my family. It’s our first family summer getaway spent in Tagaytay. Not that we had a drinking spree there, I’m just lost for words as to what title to use, and thought that a play with it would be nice. Pop and I initially planned on going to Subic and go beaching like last year when we went to Laiya in Batangas on an Easter Sunday. But for a change, and because most of us don’t want to travel that far, we opted to go to a nearby place instead. The last time I went to Tagaytay was, I think, year 2007 with my officemates. It has been a while that’s why the mere thought made me so excited, specially this time I’ll be with my dear family. So off we went one Thursday morning, in a van full of people excited to catch summer’s rays some place beautiful and breath taking.
We got there fifteen minutes before 10AM, settled down our stuff, and of course started the photo op haha! I just love the lake’s view. It’s like a very big portrait posted on a wall. It was pretty humid at that time but it didn’t stop me from taking pictures. Here are some:
After about an hour of roaming around and after the seemingly endless photo op, we decided to try out the Zipline. And we all enjoyed it! I most of the time dream of flying and having that experience hyped the hell out of me. I even shouted “I’m flyiiiiiing!!!” at the middle of the ride. I’d love to do it again! Mom and the twins enjoyed it too; and we loved our souvenir pictures! I will probably scan it next time, but for now, I’ll attach a photo of me our cousin took before I take off:
After that, we had lunch and feasted our eyes and tummies with sumptuous food we brought along with us. Too bad I wasn’t able to take some pictures while we were eating, that’s how great the food was! We then rested a bit, because the sun is at its peak. Few moments later, the twins and our cousins decided to go horseback riding. I decided not to join them because of the heat, but apparently the kids are enjoying it and didn’t stop them in exploring the place. Here’s what I missed:
Time flies fast when you’re having fact, that’s a proven fact. Few hours after, it’s time for some snacks. We loaded our tummies anew with great food. Around 3pm, we headed to, as what my dad coined it, “Palace in the sky”, a place where most people frequent because of the amazing overlooking view. And when we got there, breath-taking is an understatement. It was FANTASTIC!!!
There’s also a Greek-themed stage, a sort of a coliseum, at one part:
I’d have to say “Palace in the sky” was our getaway’s highlight. It gave me a different type of elation, something unexplainable. Anyway, here are some more photos we took. Fun, fun, fun!
My immediate family: mom, the twins, dad, and tita Rina
So, there. We indeed spelled fun with a capital F. I hope this family summer getaway would be a yearly thing. We’re two years running, anyway. I wonder where our next destination will be. Hmmm…
