I was fortunate enough to be able to watch Timbaland’s Shock Value II Tour concert courtesy of my good friend Mei. Yes I have to admit that what excites me to see it is because of Jojo and Justin Timberlake, but more than that, the mere fact that it would be the first concert event I’ll be a part of for this year made me more eager to catch it. So off I went to the Mall Of Asia concert grounds one Saturday evening. I actually had a difficult time in locating the place because it’s been a while since I went there. Around 9pm, I met with Mei and we excitedly entered the premises. The show did not start until around 10pm and most of the people were already in high spirits. While waiting, picture picture muna haha!
The stage, gearing up:
Few moments later, the show started after the hosts from U92 introduced Timbaland. The crowd immediately went wild! Timbaland sang about 4-5 songs to start it off, and he’s amazing! I enjoyed seeing him perform live, and you can tell that people are doing the same by how they respond. After the first gap and few more songs, I believe, Jojo showed up! The crowd roared even more and was happy to see and hear her live as well. Unfortunately, she only sang two songs, one of which a duet with Timbaland. We really thought she’ll be back for more but nah. Too bad my Jojo pics are kinda blurry so I won’t be posting it here.
So after that, Timbaland did another set. After several songs, finally JT came up the stage! And as expected, the crowd went wilder! It was such a joy seeing and hearing him live! Thank God he did about 7 or 8 songs. He even did an acoustic version of Til The End Of Time, which I really really love.
People screamed for more when JT left the stage and Timbaland took over. But not long after, he went back with Sexy Back! I got myself busy screaming as well, taking pictures and video, and tweeting all at the same time! Haha! There’s also a fireworks display while Sexy Back is being played. It was, I think, the night’s highlight.
It was such a blast! Timbaland and Timberlake rocked it big time! I’m really glad I was able to see it. Thanks to my dear friend Mei and to Monster Radio RX 93.1 for the free tickets! Such an awesome awesome show! I hope to watch more concerts this year, for free! Hehehe 🙂
