Over the weekend, I got reunited with a cousin of mine whom I haven’t seen in twenty years. I didn’t know he’s here in Manila, until my dad called me one Friday morning informing me, and that they’re on their way to Subic. Too bad I had some errands to do at that time and still have to attend my brother’s birthday party and house blessing later that day. Good thing after the birthday party, my dad called me again after their Zoobic adventure and told me to wait for them somewhere in Boni so I can see my cousin. They arrived at the place where I’m waiting roughly ten minutes after. And boy my cousin looked really excited to see me! We had fun catching up inside the car while on our way to the hotel where they’re staying, and found out that it was indeed twenty years since they left for Switzerland; I was seven years old back then, and he’s around twelve. Such cute little kids we are! haha!
At Rothman’s Hotel, with cousin Nick, my Dad & Jon
big boys haha!
What surprised me here though, is that cousin Nick still has the Visayan accent with him. Which is good actually, meaning he still recognizes his roots and proud of it. Unlike someone I know, who’s better left unidentified! Anyway, I spent the night over at my dad’s place that day because we’ll bring him to the airport Saturday afternoon. He’ll be back to Switzerland after spending the holidays here (in Cebu actually, where his Mom, tita Vee is staying).
So long, Kuya Nick! It was so nice to see you again. I do hope it won’t take another 20 years for us to see each other again. I’ll probably visit you and Ate Abby in Switzerland soon haha! 🙂
Meanwhile, a friend of mine is also leaving for abroad. Going back, as well, to Abu Dhabi after his holiday vacation. Which makes me wonder when would be my turn to work abroad haha! I really hope this year, I am hoping and praying that this would be my year. Anyway, here are our photos from last night’s despedida party:
See you again, Jay, not in the next twenty years but in the next holiday season! Hoping for the chocolates this time hehe! 🙂
