RIP, Jacko

26 06 2009

The whole (music)world is now grieving. THE King of Pop has passed. How sad! I am actually out of words as of the moment so I’ll just have a quick and short post here. I myself is a fan, especially during my younger days. He is considered as one of the biggest artist in the history of music. An icon. And even though he’s been through a lot of things, it wouldn’t change the fact that what he contributed is legendary. But now he’s history. A part of history people would love to remember over and over again, with utmost love and pride. Ok, I can go on and on with this post but none of this would suffice the actual emotions heightening everyone now. Just check this one out, from Yahoo Music. They did a tribute for Michael Jackson. Goodbye, Jacko. You’ll be forever missed.

The June Ride

22 06 2009

I guess I miss doing a monthly post. This is’nt, though. But a sort of a monthly recap. Well, half-month that is. The month of June, so far, is spent with my dearest friends. Watched a movie, a concert, and yes even a video scandal.

Vicky, Highden & Kutrina. I was with my friends Vicky & Vivienne and we all watched the most talked about video together, one Monday afternoon at my place. Afterwards, at the height of searing emotions, we ended up doing a spoof of three of the major characters involved in it during our usual photo op. We had a swell time! Here are some of our fun moments:

One Helluva Day! This one’s a movie dayout with KC and Oscar, two of the most “sikat” Rushers hehe! Glad they invited me, coz it has been a while since I watched a movie with my usual friends. And because of that, they became my new movie buddies. We watched Drag Me To Hell, by the way, which turned out to be a fun movie hehe! After that, we went to RX and surprised the Jumpstart guys. Had a great time, too!

A Clearly Dominated Night. And last-minute nightout, too! Because of that, I needed to compromise on some other stuff, hear hear! Anyway, I’m glad I was able to be a part of this event. A friend of mine is a rabid PCD supporter that’s why it is indeed my pleasure to join her. And we enjoyed it, to the bits! I’ve never spent a night with a lot of pussies before. Well, the Dolls that is. Yeah, Mei included haha!

I ♥ my friends!! Don’t you just love spur of the moment gimiks or ayaan? That’s what happened the last weekend. Had a night of fun, laughter and booze with my high school friends, er, over at my place. And what do we play on during photo op this time? Just scroll down.

Quite a ride, don’t you think? The rest of the month would be just like the ones above, spending good times with great friends. Just over the weekend, me and my RX friends finally had a nightout after quite a while. But pics aren’t available yet. And next week, we’ll up for an album launch and another RX visit. Yey! I’ll post those as the second part of the entry. Wonder what’s in store for me on my birth month. Hmmm… :D

Four more days!!

20 06 2009

I am so excited to see Transformers 2, Revenge of the Fallen! Four more days and it will be shown here in the Philippines. I so love the first one that’s why I’m expecting a lot from its sequel. I’m also looking forward to see Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox again! I haven’t updated myself yet about the issue about Megan, but what the hell, I still love her! And that won’t stop me from watching the movie. I mean, I loved Transformers since I was a little kid, watching its cartoon version. And seeing it come to life in the big screen would always be a wow moment for me. Anyway, I hope I can watch it right away. With my usual movie buddies. If not, probably with someone else. Here’s the trailer. Watching it alone excites me more! Waaahh!

My Idol hitlist

8 06 2009

Seven days past the month of June, and I haven’t posted anything new here. Guess I am so not in the blogging mode again. Anyway, this entry has been a lingering idea since last week. I just needed to research some stuff in making a list. It’s my (meaning my personal picks) Top 10 Favorite AI Season 8 live performances. I would love to include videos of actual live performance for each, but it’s darn hard to find HQ ones. Most were just audio versions, and some would make your eyes squint. So without any further ado, here’s the list from 10 to 1:

10. Be Without You – Lil Rounds lil_rounds_50x50

- This is where you can actually see and hear an authentic Lil Rounds. I think she did this during Top 36 performance night. Watching her back then, at that point of the competition, I really thought she’d make it all the way thru the top 4 or something. Unfortunately her power seemed to have wavered early on. But yeah, I love her take on this song.

9. You’re All I Need To Get By – Von Smith 40590_110x82

- I don’t know but I like Von’s performance of this one. Felt like a really true and honest take on a great song. He did this on Top 36 performance as well, or is it on the Wildcard Round? Can’t remember. I don’t think it’s worthy of the Top 13 spot, but nevertheless, I liked it.

8. Angel Of Mine – Anoop Desai anoop_desai_50x50

- This one I so remember. Anoop did this on the semi finals, but failed to make it on the top 12. I was a bit disappointed with the results then. How come he didn’t made it? After his performance, I right away downloaded the original version of the song and thought that Anoop did a great job in rendering his own take of this lovely song.

7. Saving All My Love For You – Tatiana Del Toro 40177_110x82

- Ok, I have to admit I liked Tatiana’s version of this Whitney Houston classic. And I really thought she’d make it. In all honesty and fairness, the song suits her. The way she sang it was just right, and it was like seeing a different side of Tatiana, which I like. And she’s really pretty! Too bad she sang it again on the Wildcard Round. An obvious downfall, I think.

6. Tracks Of My Tears – Adam Lambert adam_lambert_50x50

- I believe this is where he started to mark his presence in the competition, like in the sense of total artistry. I mean, I liked Adam since Holywood Week, and even that early I thought that this guy can offer a lot to the show. He never fails to amaze the viewers and even the judges. And this rendition of Track Of My Tears is an evident proof.

5. You Are So Beautiful – Danny Gokey danny_gokey_50x50

- As what Simon Cowell quoted after Danny sang this at the Top 3 performance, it is indeed a “vocal masterpiece”. I honestly believe that. This has got to be my ultimate favorite Gokey performance. I was like, Wow! after watching it. Really great!

4. I Can’t Make You Love Me – Allison Iraheta allison_iraheta_50x50

- I love Allison’s rough style, and her singing this ballad was a bit surprising for me. But she gave it her own take, and nailed it big time! I so love this performance of hers. It was like hearing an entirely different song, and stamping Allison’s mark made it effortless.

3. Man In The Mirror - Kris Allen kris_allen_50x50

- It was the first week of the semi finals and there’s this guy singing a Michael Jackson song. I was unaware of his name coz he didn’t had much exposure at the start of the season. But he was good, not bad at all, specially after a Jacko song. And who would’ve thought, that this simple guy who gave a heart warming take on Man In The Mirror would eventually emerge as the grand winner?

2. To Make You Feel My Love – Kris Allen kris_allen_50x50

- One of the many genuine and pure performance from Kris. I believe this is where he started to keep the ball rolling for him, and just kept on Allenizing songs and performances. This made me love the song much much more. And that, I believe, is a mark of a true artist.

1. Mad World – Adam Lambert adam_lambert_50x50

- Ok, ok. I know I shouldn’t have included this on the list (for some obvious reasons, it should be exempted haha!), but I sincerely and personally believe that Adam’s Mad World should top anyone else’s Idol list. Never have I raved so much about an Idol performance since David Cook’s Always Be My Baby. Both songs gives me goosebumps watching and even hearing it anywhere. I know I rooted for Kris Allen, but yeah, I’ll give this top spot to Adam. He likes being on top, anyway.

And with that note, I will end this entry. It was an amazing season and I can’t wait for the next one! I miss the show na! :D
