Bow & Wow! for David Cook

      

It has been a while since I’ve blogged about American Idol. What triggered me to do so was because of, yes, David Cook! I admit I’m not a fan of his, although I loved his audition, but I think I am becoming one now haha! I know I rooted for Archuleta and Malubay on my previous blog, but c’mon, it is obviously David Cook who deserves to win this year! If there is an Idol finalist who truly defined himself in each performance since the start of the competition, it really is Mr. Cook indeed. From his solid versions of Hello, Eleonor Rigby, Daytripper, and Billie Jean, you can almost feel the finale just knockin on his door. And now he has stoled the show yet again by his amazing and unbelievable version of Mariah Carey’s Always Be My Baby! This has got to be his best performance for me. He’s getting better and better each week, though his last one (Innocent) was a bit predictable and safe, not the usual him that we know of. And mind you, after he sang the Mariah song, I got teary eyed the same time he’s in tears! The first time an artist/performer, specially in Idol, touched me so deeply. I so hate him for doing that to me haha! That is why I am beginning to love him, admittingly professing the want for him to be the next American Idol!

 

And now for the rant part. Last week’s results was a big Idol shocker as Michael Johns got axed in the show. He is one this season’s front runner same with Carly Smithson and David Archuleta. Carly’s losing it though, giving performances unfelt by the judges and the voting public too I assume, making her a bottom three favorite for quite some time now. And she’s beginning to irritate me! Archuleta, on the other hand, seems to be playing it safe but still manages to pull it off either because of his great voice or great charm. Really works for him most of the time.

  

                       

Anyway, I still hope David Cook wins! hehe.. But it is still an unpredictable show, so expect the worse, so to speak. Just please don’t make the other Cook stay much longer!
